About Jo & Contact
Jo has been working as a doula, doula trainer, prenatal educator and community worker in Montréal for more than 20 years. Most of her work has been with newly arrived families through both community organizations and for the local health authority. With a vast experience in hospital and home birth, Jo brings this practical knowledge to the classroom and her private consultations. Highly skilled in birth and breastfeeding support, Jo is also well-known for her engaging teaching style and her relaxed and honest approach to birth and parenting.
For many years Jo worked as a Prenatal Educator with the provincial health authority, as a doula trainer with Alternative Naissance, and directly with expectant parents. She now holds a communications post with the Canadian Association of Midwives and continues a limited private consultancy of private and group prenatal sessions.
A community activist focused on sexual and reproductive health and rights, Jo brings an honesty and practicality to all things birth, baby and parenting.
